there's a famous saying....

"life is like cai peng" ( _________ , 2010)
Abstract ----------
At a 菜贩 stall, you are generally spoilt for choices.
From the tau gua to the chicken curry, almost everything looks so palatable.
Situation 1: You want to have the best of everything. You went to order more than the usual amount. As the food is so delicious, you cannot help but gorge yourself, without realising that you are overeating. End result: Indigestion.
Life lesson 1: Never take in more than you could absorb, lest you breakdown along the way. Learn to let go and fully enjoy the flavours of life.
Situation 2: The prawns look so appetising and you asked the uncle to add more. End result: You discovered that they are not fresh at all.
Life lesson 2: Never judge a book by its cover. But when things happen, just learn from mistakes and move on.
At times, this may not be so...
Situation 3: The fish looks absolutely disgusting with all that unknown black substance over it. Other dishes are not any better than this. Damn hungry, how? But you still decided to buy because the cai peng stall is the only one left opened. End result: The fish tastes fabulous and you decided that this shall be the only cai peng stall you shall patronise for the rest of your life.
Life lesson 3: When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. Make do with what you have, be more adventurous and open-minded, and you will see that life is not that bad after all.
The food that you chose eventually makes up the stuff that ends up on your plate. Don't eat veggie and you end up with constipation. Eat too much fried chicken wings and you increase the chances of heart disease. Then, the salted egg might not go well with the pickles. How do you know that you are getting the right amount of nutrients, while at the same time ensuring that the food goes well together?
Life is really a journey of choices. Whether you want your life to be 喜, 怒, 哀, or 乐 very much depends on the food you decided to pick; 酸, 甜, 苦 or 辣.
Just some FOOD for thought. A really crappy post for fun. Haha..
PS: Join the greatest Cai Peng movement!
