look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see?

In the blink of an eye, another year is gone. Although there are some things which I regretted not doing, especially during the exceptionally long break after NS, I am pretty glad that it was still a rather eventful year.

30/1: Chingay Parade

8/2: ORD lo!

12/2 - 11/9: Took up martial arts lessons, went for grading and got promoted.

10/3 - 10/7: Underwent my most interesting job experience with ST Kinetics. Dealt with accounts, weapons and explosives.

8/5 - 10/5: Travelled to Malaysia for my first ever camping trip with NUS ODAC and risked my life and limb there.

22/6 - 24/8: Attended crash courses on guitar and got myself hooked on the instrument till today.

11/8: Enrolled into NTU and surprised myself by surviving the first semester.

16/8: Ran my first half marathon and went beyond expectations by completing it.

9/12 - 20/12: Christmas Song Sign!

26/12: My sis being officially married!

为什么你要带我走过最难忘的旅行,然后留下最痛的纪念品?

Some memories are indeed too fond to be forgotten. Sweet as they may be, it is a pain to hold them close to your heart because you know that those moments can never be relished again. Thus, emotions are still going high on a roller-coaster ride. Perhaps I should just learn to let go. But even if I did, those holes in my heart will still remain empty. When will they be filled again?

On a happier note, I found three new loves in my life..

The feeling of cycling to work every day was so great that I bought myself a new bike and till today, I even cycled to school sometimes.

Those weekly guitar crash courses encouraged me to pick up that dusty old guitar lying in the storeroom and rekindled my love for music once again.

Never did I imagine myself to be so atheletic before. NS made me fall in love with running, partly because I shocked myself by getting a IPPT Gold. AHM spurred me to join more marathons in the future. Sundown, anyone?

.. Thank you 2009!

A train can never pass through easily if nobody cares about the overgrown grass and dilapidated state of the tracks.

Life is just like this. The journey is long. Without proper alignment of the tracks and clearing of unwanted obstacles, the train you are in will derail. Thus, reaching out for your destination is an impossibility.

Unlike the picture, my tracks have not been laid though. Therefore, my only major resolution for the coming year is to set clear goals for my life path - be the driver of my own train.

On the other hand, ORD and turning 21 have definitely made me realise I should grow up. I cannot be a wilful child anymore. It is time to give a little bit more love to my dear ones and be independent. Learn to treasure them before it is too late.

2010, a fresh new start of another decade of the millenium. Let us seize this opportunity to start life anew with vigour and enthusiasm and be the captain of our own lives!
